Back of the milk carton - Colin Alford - Army Reserves
Over the past year I’ve had a few old friends discover my site and reconnect. Two friends from my first year in the US Navy back in 1991 found me. Guy Hellyar had a friend searching his name and came across my site. He told Guy who got in touch with me. Doug Duncan searched my pretty uncommon name and found my site and sent a message through my contact page. It has been great to catch up with these guys. And Noriko Shimabukuro, known to me as Nonchan, searched and found my site as well. I’ve also had a few old friends catch up on Facebook. One who I haven’t talked to since I was about 12 years old!
I search for other friends from time to time; sometimes frustrated because I cannot remember a full name. I’ll be scanning photos and uploading more of them hoping the photos will be discovered and recognized by some or picked up by the face recognition software that seems to be coming out. Kind of like the missing child milk carton concept.
I don’t have a photo that I can find of my friend Colin Alford, AKA “Al”, but I’m going to throw his name up here and hope he or someone he knows finds it. I remembered Colin recently when watching a series featuring Randy Quaid. Mr. Quaid reminds me a lot of Colin or vice versa. Colin came to Germany as an augmentee and ended up working with me in JWICS providing videoconferencing and telecommunication support to US Headquarters European Command. If you are Colin or know him tell him he’s on my milk carton.
If I find a photo I will update the post.
